How Fiber Laser Ablation Works
Fiber laser ablation is the most advanced non-contact surface cleaning method available today. INPULSE LLC uses high-powered pulsed fiber lasers to direct concentrated light energy at a contaminated surface. When the laser pulse strikes rust, soot, mold, oxidation, or any other unwanted layer, the energy is instantly absorbed by the contaminant and vaporized — leaving the clean substrate completely intact beneath.
The fundamental advantage of laser ablation over sandblasting, chemical stripping, or pressure washing is selectivity. Because different materials absorb laser energy at different rates, the laser removes only the contaminant without ever mechanically or chemically touching the base material. This makes it ideal for thin metals, heritage stone, delicate copper, and any surface where dimensional accuracy matters.
INPULSE's equipment is fully portable and self-contained. Our laser systems are mounted in mobile rigs that can be transported directly to a customer's site — a garage, a factory floor, a cemetery, a distillery, or an outdoor monument. There is no need to disassemble equipment or transport parts to a facility. Cleaning happens in place, at the customer's convenience.
The process produces no chemical byproducts, no abrasive media waste, and no runoff. Vaporized contaminants are captured by an integrated extraction system, leaving only a clean surface behind. This makes laser ablation the most environmentally responsible cleaning method available, compliant with the strictest environmental regulations.
Power and pulse parameters are fully adjustable. Light rust on a vintage car panel requires different settings than heavy mill scale on structural steel or decades of oxidation on a copper distillery still. INPULSE technicians are trained to dial in the correct parameters for each substrate and contamination level, ensuring perfect results every time.
Non-Contact Process
The laser beam never physically touches the surface, eliminating mechanical stress or abrasion marks.
Substrate Safe
Selective energy absorption means only the contaminant is removed — the base material is never harmed.
Zero Chemical Waste
No acids, solvents, or abrasive media are used. The process is fully eco-friendly with zero runoff.
Fully Mobile
INPULSE brings the entire laser system to your location — no disassembly, no transport, no downtime.
